What is cargo insurance?

Cargo Insurance is beneficial for businesses which manufacture, buy or sell finished products, components or raw materials.

Picture this…

You own a business and you are sending a valuable item overseas. You’ve packaged it carefully and sent it on its way, hoping that it will arrive safely at its destination. But what if something unexpected happens along the way? Maybe the ship encounters a storm and some of the cargo gets damaged, or maybe the cargo gets lost or stolen.

This is where cargo insurance comes in. Cargo insurance is a type of insurance that protects your valuable items while they are in transit. It can provide coverage for a variety of things, such as damage to the cargo, theft, and even losses due to a ship sinking or being involved in an accident.

With cargo insurance, you can have peace of mind knowing that your valuable items are protected in case something goes wrong during transit. It’s like having a safety net that helps you recover the value of your lost or damaged items.

So, if you ship the goods that you manufacture and you want to make sure your valuable cargo is protected, consider getting cargo insurance. It’s a smart way to safeguard your investment and ensure that your items arrive safely at their destination.

You don't need to wait until renewal.

We can complete a full review of your insurance now. That means we'll find any problems and fix them straight away.

What should you look out for?

Often buyers can have issues as they don’t arrange their own insurance, relying instead on their suppliers or customers arranging cargo insurance, or a freight forwarder arranging insurance for them. These can prove costly, time consuming in the event of a claim and unreliable.
